OKLAHOMA CITY — Getting college students to quit smoking is the goal of a new bill at the State House. This week the state senate passed a bill which gives the Oklahoma Board of Regents clear authority to ban tobacco on any public college or university. Right now some universities, like OSU, already have a total ban of tobacco on campus; others, like OU, do not.

The bill makes lighting up a possible misdemeanor.

That could include a fine between $10 and $100.

The bill will now go to the house for a vote.  If you are alarmed by this turn of events, contact your representatives and tell them so!
