Good News Grassroots! Bills Advance

In Uncategorized on February 23, 2010 at 3:43 am

The calls and Emails are making a difference!

HCR 1047 passed committee today 82-15!

This bill prevents Federal control over insurance companies and leaves it up to the state to regulate insurance.

These two bills have advanced as well!

  • HB 2317, the OK Enumerated Powers Act. States any bill passed in OK must cite both US and State Constitutional authority in order to become law.

  • HB 2569, prohibiting RFID chips in the OK driver license and ID cards (This bill passed out of a subcommittee last week and now must pass this full committee.)

Calls are needed to the full committee to get a Yes vote on these bills.

Also being heard:

  1. HB 3163, the OK Right to Know Act which states that any public agency, upon request by the citizen, has 30 days to provide any personally identifiable information it has on that citizen and must disclose with/to whom it has been shared.

Apparently a criminal has this right, but not an innocent person.

We need to ask the above committee members to also vote Yes to advance this citizen’s rights bill.
